About Our Hospital
Our hospital first opened its doors to the public in 1987 by Dr. Ernie Prowse. At the time, the clinic was located in a facility on Pictou Road in Bible Hill, which is just outside of Truro. As client numbers increased we outgrew our facility. In 1992 Central Nova Animal Hospital relocated from Pictou Road to our current location at 29 Main Street.

Pets We Serve
Common household pets: Cats, Dogs
Exotic pets: At Central Nova Animal Hospital, we enjoy caring for exotic pets while recognizing our limits.
We commonly see rabbits, ferrets, and small rodents, with occasional reptiles and birds. We handle minor medical issues, routine care (teeth, wing, and nail trims), and minor surgeries such as spays, neuters, and lump removals.
For complex cases or advanced testing, we may refer your pet to Halifax, Moncton, or the Atlantic Veterinary College in PEI.
